BMedSci BMBS DRCOG
Dr Paul Wood qualified 1988 and has been part of the team and involved in all aspects of practice development since joining The Practice in 1993. In addition, Dr Wood is also fully involved in the work of the Southern Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group (SDCCG), and took over as Chairman in October 2016. He works in the practice two days a week (Tu, W). Paul is married with 2 children, in some of his spare time he remains a loyal supporter of Derby County.
|Dr Niall McKay (m)|
Dr Niall McKay has been a GP since 1993 and is pleased to be working 3 days a week in General Practice (Tu, Th, Fr). He is the lead managerial partner and has a clinical interest in musculoskeletal medicine, sports injuries and rehabilitation as well as medical education and end of life care. Dr McKay is a GP trainer, so supervises and trains GP registrars within the practice. Days not at work are equally likely to be spent climbing, playing guitar, running, walking, beating his kids at racquet sports or sitting in the garden with a G&T.
|Dr Ruth Lenehan (f)|
Dr Ruth Lenehan qualified in 1992 and joined the practice in 2000. Her clinical interests include Rheumatology , Minor Surgery and Women’s health. She is the GP responsible in the practice for Child and Adult Safeguarding issues. She works in the practice 2 days a week (M, Th).
|Dr Caroline Saxelby (f)|
Dr Caroline Saxelby studied medicine as a graduate in Leeds having already completed a degree in Medical Microbiology. She joined the practice in 2008 following completion of her GP training in Nottingham. In addition to her 3 days as a GP (Tu, Th, Fr) she works as the Macmillan GP facilitator for the Southern Derbyshire CCG and has worked for the contraception and sexual health service in Derby until the end of 2013. Her special interests include palliative and end of life care, collaborative work with care homes, contraception and sexual health.

Dr Cathy Corden graduated from Nottingham University in 2008, having made the decision to become a doctor at the age of 11, after watching too much Casualty on TV! She worked in several different clinical specialities during her training, but felt she enjoyed the variety that general practice offered, and therefore completed her GP training in Derby in 2013. She spent a year working in inner-city Derby, before joining the practice in July 2014. Her clinical interests include dermatology (skin disease), women’s health, cancer and palliative care. Cathy works at the practice three days a week (M, W, Th). In her spare time, she enjoys walking, swimming, photography, travel and fossil collecting.

MA BMBS DRCOG
Dr Robbie McDermott qualified in 2010 as a 'mature' entrant to medicine. He works as a GP for three days a week (W, Th, F). He has an interest in learning difficulties and autism as well as international humanitarian medicine. He spends any spare time forcing upon his children a range of uncomfortable outdoor activities.

MBChB MRCGP DRCOG
Dr Harkesh Chahal qualified in 2009 and completed her GP training in Derby in 2014. She joined the practice in March 2017 and works 4 days a week (M, Tu, W, F). In her spare time she enjoys travelling, walking and reading.
