Travel Vaccinations

global air travel

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you will need to fill out our Pre Travel Health form and then make 1 appointment per traveller with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements.   This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible  - at least 6-8 weeks before you travel - as some vaccines have to be ordered in as they are not a stock vaccine and the vaccines need time to get into your system and start protecting you.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.  This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

If you are a LAST MINUTE TRAVELLER, we will do our best to accommodate your request for information and appointments but we regret this cannot be guaranteed. If you are unable to get an appointment 3-4 weeks before your travel date you should attend the travel clinic detailed below:

1 Bridge Street, Derby.

Tel 01332 332530.

This is a private clinic and offers excellent advice and vaccinations. They are open between 9am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. As this is a PRIVATE clinic. there will be a charge for their service.
